type&enter:apextoolbox

go to "goodies" > toggle boot animation > disable THX sound

Lol, I love the boot sound. Sounds like my X is about to take over the world when it boots... .

I would however like to change the Animation and keep the sound.

The rom creator's idea. If you do not like it (like myself) you can easily turn it off.

However, that is not why responded. I responded because of the tone you used on your post. Please change it. So no need to sound like a jackarse.

I felt it needed to be said. I don't care if you or anyone else gets butthurt about it.

There is no point in it at all, and especially no point in enabling it by default. I have my phone on silent at all times, so you can imagine how surprised I, along with everyone one in a 25-foot radius of me, was surprised by the sound.

I show him respect by donating, which I'm sure most people don't. You would think that would let me voice my opinion on a forum...

Also, "a$$hole" and "jackarse" aren't any less offensive than asshole or jackass. I find it humorous that you're giving me a lesson in respect in the same post that you name call.

The last thing that needs to be discussed in an Apex thread is what Fabolous was thinking when he did something. He does amazing work and if you don't like it, please download something else and keep your negative comments to yourself. I'm pretty sure that the mods also appreciate the same thing from board members.

I'm amazed this is such a issue. Download ANY "bootanimation.zip" you want and drop it the Data/Local folder replacing the default ApeX one.

Or... if you like the animation but not the sound delete the apex.mp3 from the system/media folder.

Hmmm, I have gone through quite a few... Right now I have the DroidPro boot animation with the apex THX sound.

Always just replaced the "bootanimation.zip" in data/local. Never had a issue??

When I first updated to 1.4.1, I loved the sound. It was so sick. It was just pure awesome..... then, problems started to happen....

My phone likes to at least reboot on its own once to twice a day. So I'll be sitting in lecture and then I hear the boot sound. The only way i can get it to shut the hell up is to rip the battery out... It's really pissing me off now, for the simple fact that it has gotten really annoying...

It is a sick bootup sound, if I listen to it when I choose to, but when it decides to do it it whenever, then I have a problem.... Especially since when it boots up on it's own, it tends to freeze or not respond, so I have to reboot it and go through listening to the sound again....

I went to the toolbox and removed it, thx for posting directions... much happier now
