work phone forwarding

I'm trying to forward my work phone to my new Droid and keep getting a message telling me it's not a long distance call. Any ideas?

Don't start with a "1". Just Area Code, Number xxx-xxx-xxxx

I understand our system is ShoreTel and inputs it automatically
9 + 1 area code and the number

You should be able to make a google voice account with your existing number, then it can forward / ring wherever you want
