working on battery saving ideas. I understand that wifi takes less juice than 3g/4g. I assume that if I turn off 3g/4g and have wifi on - I can still receive telephone calls because I think I read somewhere that voice is 2g and that's always on. Correct?

But what about text messaging? Can I send/receive texts with 3g/4g off and wifi on?

If I have both wifi and 3g/4g on - does data default to wifi thus less power usage?

Any ideas here?

Thanks.

SMS text messaging will work but for MMS (picture, audio, video) you will need data enabled.
