Why isn't there CPU and other hardware information in About window of Android devices?

My previous mobile phone is HTC Touch HD, which is a windows mobile based smart phone.
In About window of this phone, we can view some hardware information, such as CPU model, display resolution and so on.

But on my current Android-based phone, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, there is not any hardware information in About window.
I think this might be by design for Android OS. But I just wonder why it is by design like this for Android-based phones and tablets.
    Thank you in advance.

That's just how Android works. There are a ton of apps in the store that will allow you to see more information regarding the hardware of your phone.

CPUZ, which I use on my PC and have been for years, has a great app that does just this.
