Why is my battery bad

I read about people getting 5 hours of screen time or the battery lasting them all day no problem. My phone can't do that

Your battery usage looks like mine immediately after involuntarily updating to KitKat. Suddenly Android System, which had never used much juice before, was 2 to 3 times my screen usage. Battery went crazy and charging took twice as long.

If this is your problem join the club with a number of people who have experienced wifi, bluetooth, battery, and signal problems.

Best option is to do a factory reset which will mean you either back-up your data or lose it. You can pull your battery or clear the cache partition but in my experience this does nothing.

If the reset doesn't work rumor is that an OTA fix is in the offing. The carriers are well aware that they screwed alot of people with KitKat.
