Why is it so hard to find a car dock charger?

I have a car dock, and with that car dock came a charger that did two cool things for me:

• It automatically launched Car Dock Mode when plugged into the phone
• It is a split cable, with USB and a 1/8" jack so I can plug it right into my car stereo

Unfortunately, the cable that came with the dock has broken and doesn't work any more. I've been frustrated in searching online for a replacement.

Maybe you guys can suggest better search terms for me to use, or point me to something?

This is for a Note 3, but I assume that most modern Samsung phones use the same pin configuration / cable.

Who manufactured the dock, and have you contacted them?

I haven't contacted them because the dock is old enough that parts are out of warranty and I don't really want another cable from them because I'd rather have one that lasts a bit longer.
