When I was under my 2 year contract, Verizon said I would be 'grandfathered in' with my account if any changes were done to the data charges, charging for 4G and whatever changes may come down the road.

I bought a phone outright and am using it without a contract--Do I still have the same rights or privileges as if I were under contract?

They can't break the terms of the contract without a contract.
