Can someone tell me what is ext2/ext3/ext4, what are their functions in the android OS, specifically the Droid?

Also, are they included/implemented by default P3's kernels or any of the custom roms? And if not, how would I go about doing it?

Thanks

Prime's kernels in the cyanogenmod section supports all of those. Those extensions ext2/3/4 are for when you partition your SD card for swappable storage using links2sd or a comparable program.
