What destroyed my battery?

So I was at work today. At one point, I checked my phone and my battery was at 36%. Not quite two hours later--with my only use being to check the time--my battery was down to 15%. I then turned my phone off. It was off for maybe an hour, and when I turned it back on, it was down to 5%.

Anyone have any insight? I'm running GB.
Screenshots below are when I was at 1%.
Aside from this incident, my battery life has been excellent with GB.

You can try calibration. There is a good free app in the market. It could be just that

It seems as though your display is not turning off? Check your settings

The droid 2 should be getting it. Gingerbread was leaked for the droid 2 with the droid x a few weeks ago. Motorola is definitely working on it.

Turn background data off. That has significantly improved my battery life.

What does that stop you from using besides the market?

It stops apps that use apps in the background like weather apps and facebook.

Not really a "solution" per se, but I recently invested in the extended battery for my D2 - and I love it. Lasts forever, I can do virtually anything I want on the phone all day and still have plenty of juice when I get home. Brilliant. Highly recommend, if you've had it with the stock battery.

Sounds good. I have 2 standard batteries but the extended would be great

Why? I bought a second battery for $5 free shipping. Seems silly to shell out that loot for nothing.

Edit: I concur with your display not turning off in your pocket.
