Talked to Mike today, who helped this old man understand some things.
As I explained my Droid X2 was purchased from Verizon two weeks ago and it came factory with froyo. I immediately thought "I want to root it" so I did it using Gingerbreak, which was very simple. I installed titanium back up and had it set up nicely, but there were problems.
TEXTS kept repeating....which annoyed the heck out of me...Then on the 29th of June my phone indicated a update was needed, but since it was rooted, I could not update to Gingerbread. So I took the phone back to Verizion and swaped out for a new phone. I then did the update.
I have found after the update to Gingerbread, the phone is running better than the rooted version of froyo that I did previously. Even though I currently have lots of programs that cant be deleted....the phone is running flawlessly, so at this point I am staying with it.
Hopefully in the future if a GingerCrack comes out for me to simply run that would give me super user powers to delete some of currently un-deletable pre installed apps - thats all I want to do!
*please message me if this ever happens in the future and where to get the simple APK file. (I prefer a simple run and go - that allows super user)
Thanks
