Upgrade by mistake!!!

I have a razr maxx and made the mistake of upgrading to 4.1.2. Now my wifi tether doesn't work. I have tried rerooting with no avail. Is there a possibility my reroot didn't work? Is there an "easy to use" root tool available? Can the phone be rolled back to to the previous os?
I sure would be thankful for some help.

This is a known "problem" with 4.1.2. If you search the forum you can find the answers for the tethering. (Sorry I don't have the link available.)

To root 4.1.2 you need the razrblade utility. And no, unfortunately once on 4.1.2 you can't go back to previous versions.

I can't imagine IG being any easier than this method.

Follow exactly and you should be good.
*note...your line number might be different from the one in the video using the sqlite WiFi hack....look it up by name...mind was in the 70s....I've heard others were in the 150 range.

How will I know if the root worked...as I was rooted before the upgrade. Any suggestions for a wifi hotspot?

OK, followed the steps to the letter and checked my phone with "root checker" and the device does not have proper root access. Where do I go from here?

Maybe I will try it again. What the hell!!!
