Sync Only New Emails

Hi, I just bought and received my Droid X and when I put my google account on my phone it synced all of my old emails to the phone(which is about 6000 unread emails from me not clearing all the emails out the last few years) and I was wondering if there was a way to have my phone only sync the new emails I receive and not all the old ones, other than going through and reading/deleteing all of the messages.

Thanks for any help.

Welcome to droidforums...

I don't think there is a way to do what you want to do except the old fashion manual way.

Maybe some other folks smarter than I can come along and offer a better solution.

In the gmail app (not the email app, might be a way there but I don't know):

Menu > More > Settings > Labels

You can do a global "Number of days to sync" or go label by label.

Try that.

I tried the label thing, it only made it so less emails show up on the initial screen, which is good thanks

Are you using Gmail? If so, then I don't think emails are actually stored on your phone but are actually in the Google cloud.
