if you're rooted, then just download a wired tethering app from the market. easytether offers a free version (can't access https sites though - that's secure sites).

well, they say you don't need to be rooted... idk.

for wireless, wireless tether app worked well for me.

try easytether in the app market. you download it to your device and then you'll download a program to your PC.

I wanted to know how I can change up things on my Droid X and also, change the LED colors for different notifications??

Just need the right apps for that. Handcent will let you vary the led by contact. Mail droid lets you change the led. You don't need root.
