Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - Verizon service

When using the Samsung Messaging app, whenever I want
to "Add text" I touch the lower-left of the device, touch "Add text"
and up pops another window asking me to select "S Note,"
"Calendar," "Contacts," or "Text templates."

I always need "Text templates."

Is there a way to bypass having to select "Text templates"
and have the app default to "Text templates" whenever
I select "Add text"?

HALP!! :)

For some reason, there are some functions that never give you the option to use a certain app "Always" or "Just Once" like others do. If you don't see those options below the list of choices, I would guess there's not an easy way to set it as default, but I could be missing something.
