Serious Email App bug with chained certificates

The Email App on my Droid does not seem to be able to connect to our IMAP server with our new certificate since we installed a new certificate, which for the first time is a chained certificate. It says "Cannot connect safely to server".

Thunderbird and other desktop apps are connecting with no problem.

This is a VERY serious problem, as more and more servers are likely to be using chained certificates.

I just filed a bug report for the Email App: Bug 10985

If you've experienced this problem, or if you just think it's a high priority fix so that you don't experience it when your certificates are updated, then please star this bug report.
