Yes it does. Just fully charge it afterwards.

I can't find anything supporting such a premise. I do find, however, several sites supporting the use of the method I've referenced.

"Let me Google that for you" here's a list to support wiping battery stats. I think it's pretty evident that it works. If draining his battery fully works for dbones that's awesome, it's never been as efficient as the wiping battery stats process for me.

Oh I see, but draining the li-ion battery is bad for its longevity, but I suppose doing a stat reset isn't great either

Either way works fine. I've done both many times, one is just way simpler, mainly to the average person who isn't rooted.
