on the sd card create a folder called media
inside it create folders- notifications, ringtones, alarms, camera, music, video

use the usb connection to make sure the ringtones are placed in the correct foler.

from hancent send a message to the person- choose menu and attach
when the menu pops up choose sound.

pick the sound.

do i have to do this on my home comp? I would think we could do it right on the droid itself. Thank you so much for the information.Time to experiment :motdroidhoriz:

I downloaded a ringtone from the standard browser and have no idea where the mp3 is. I used astro to search from the root / and does not find it. So is it actually saved or what?
