Help setting mp3 as ringtone on droid 2

I have ringtones on my droid 2 which I downloaded in mp3 format and I emailed them to my phone but i dont know how to set them as ringtone when i access them through my email and download them onto the phone...they save to the sd card but i dont know how to set them as a ringtone it doesn't seem to let me even when i find it on the phone it only plays or lets me share it...please helppp!

If you don't have a folder named Ringtones on your SD card then create one. Save ringtones in that folder and you'll be able to select them. Similarly, create folders for Notifications and Alarms, if desired. It's this way for all Android devices.

Try out Ringdroid from the marketplace. It cuts any portion of an mp3 file and sets it as ringtone. Can create as many as you like.
