Running the New ROM's 0n 4.1.1 JB

Hello everyone. I haven't been around since running Liberty on my DroidX. I'm currently on 4.1.1 on my S3 and don't know why I haven't been pushed the updates. Don't really care. My question is "Can I run the ROM's made for 4.3 and 4.4 (examples are CM11 nightly, MOAR 8.0, and WS 0.5) if I'm still on 4.1.1 or does the ROM just update me to that build when I flash it?

I have the gs3,too. I747 att version. I have cm11 kit kat 4.4 and it runs great.

Whatever version you download is what you'll run. ID suggest going straight to 4.4 and skipping the 4.3 garbage.
