[Rumor] HTC Likely to Make Google's Nexus 8.9 with 2K Display & Higher Price

The latest rumor regarding the Google Nexus 8.9 tablet suggests that HTC will be the OEM of choice for the tablet, and that it will be a premium product with a premium price tag. According to recent reports, the HTC made Nexus 8.9 device will include a 2K display, but will fetch a price higher than the previously rumored $299. The media is speculating anything from $349 to $399.

On top of this, there is also talk that the device will be announced at Google I/O on June 25th, and will be in mass production for a planned July street launch. We will keep you updated if more details arrive before the conference.

For me they are moving to a size that I don't want. the Nexus 7 was a perfect sized tablet. An 8" tablet may be tolerable because they could reduce the bezel size and make it more screen. But at 8.9", it'll be close to the size of most 10" tablets and thats too big for me.

For me it's just the opposite. I love that size. A 7" is too small and 10" is too big. That 8.5-9" size is just perfect for me, but to each his own.

Put me down for a 7-8" tablet. Price and no SD (I assume) will make this a flop.
