rooting from a phone..

Hey folks, names Mitch. I have been reading up on rooting my HTC thunderbolt...problem is I'm not finding much about how to do it from my phone...I have never done a root before and I have no idea how to build a custom Rom..I don't wanna hear about how its a good phone stock cuz its not..it randomly shuts down..its slow...it glitches a lot...somebody that knows what their doing him in here..I want to unlock my phones abilities to be bfa...
