Hi all.

Occasionaly the led blinks green then Orange and alternates back and forth.
It only does this when its plugged in.
The only thing I can think is that it is letting me know that it's to hot.
My battery monitor showed it at 118 degrees fahrenheit.

Anybody know if that's it?

Yes, its overheating! Let it cool down first before plugging it back in to charge.

Hey, thanks for your input.

How hot is too hot?

Right now, while discharging, it's at 79 degrees.

Any idea why it would be overheating?
At the time it was plugged in to an old moto charger rated at
5.1v at 850ma.

The stock charger that came with the Rezound is 5v at 1amp, actually less output than the moto.

I am using the extended battery, fwiw.

Thanks

If your battery is overheating, you probably need to get a new extended battery and I would switch chargers. I had this happen to me with two different Rezounds and it was a combination of the extended battery being faulty and the charger being bad. Both of these factors will cause your phone to overheat. I got a refurb and it works better than the three previous brand new in box Rezounds.

Yes, the indicator light flashing alternate colors is an overheating warning. According to HTC, 122 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius) is the maximum normal operating temperature for the battery. The lights flashing will normally occur just prior to the battery reaching that temperature. Overheating occasionally is not necessarily a sign of any defect. E.g. Charging your phone in the car on a warm day while exposed to sunlight will cause this. When/if this starts occurring frequently or for no apparent reason, then you should be concerned. I use Phone Overheat Alert to monitor battery temps.

Any idea why it would overheat when using a charger that puts out less amps than the stock one?
Perhaps said charger isn't rated correctly or isn't working right?

Thanks
