I'll be moving over to a D3 today, and will be keeping my original Moto D1 (it's in great shape). Though this unit will not be active to make calls, I should still be able to use apps on the phone that just utilize the hardware, correct?

Some examples I'm thinking about are apps like:

- Bubble Level
- Ghost Radar
- Notes
- Synthesizer apps
- TriCorder

And I should still be able to use this retired D1 as a WiFi device when I want, right?

That's just brilliant! I'm glad I can still put the device to use.

Plus we should be able to enjoy new ROM's if they are developed - correct? I will eventually be upgrading to the Bionic and was wondering about the Droid 1. Thanks for creating this topic.
