Question about updating a rooted phone

I recently purchased a rooted droid incredible. I am new to the whole rooting thing and just had a question about updating the ROM. Currently my phone is running SkyRaider 2.5.2 Sense. I noticed that SkyRaider has come out with an update and I wanted to know if I can just update to this like I would if Verizon were to send me an update OTA. Or do I need to download to my SD card, wipe the current setup and download from the bootloader? Or something completely different?

Again I am new, and not sure exactly how to update.

Also, information that might help or not. My computer setup is a Macbook Pro osX and I have Parallels with Windows XP on it as well.

Any information any one can give would be greatly appreciated.

First, boot into recovery mode, make a backup of your current ROM. Then download the .zip file from Skyraider or whoever develops the rom's thread, put it on the root of your sd card, boot into recovery, apply zip from sd card, select the ROM. First, try without wiping. If you have issues, wipe, then reapply the rom.
