Get the paid version of the APP, or some free apps even still have an option in their settings to disable the ads.

Problem is, I don't know what app it's coming from? It just pops up on my main screen when I try to go into whatever program and it's ads for various games.

List the apps you have downloaded. Bet it's one of free Chinese crapware apps.

If you root your phone you can install apps that will disable ads. I think one is called ad blocker. I think rom toolbox has that option too.

I'm rooted and use AdAway that works very well. Not sure it's available for non-root though.

Here are the games I've downloaded to my phone:
    Angry Birds
    Jetpack Joyride*
Let's Golf 2 (preloaded when I got the phone)
Madden NFL12 (preloaded when I got the phone)
    Minedraft PE Demo
    MX Mayhem*
    Perry? Free*
    Pyramid Run
    Stick Snow Free*
    StickSkater Free*
    Talking Tom*
    Temple Run
The pop up ads seemed to start showing up after I downloaded one of the ones that are starred...not sure if that helps or not. Thanks!

Download airpush detector it should tell you which app is putting the ads on your device.

This seems like your system is suffering from malware infection, because unwanted popups and malicious ads are generally displayed by malware. Don't worry because you can easily get rid of this with the help of a malware removal tool. If you don't want to to face this situation in future then you have to apply some precautions while browsing internet, because this infection comes from the internet.
