Notification Sound Not Working

My notification ring tone stopped working so I don't know when I receive a text message anymore until I look at my phone. I have looked at all settings for ring/notification sounds and everything is checked/chosen correctly.

Try messing around with the volume control. It sometimes happen to me. It even sometimes goes on mute, ringer and media volume, until I adjust my volume slider.

I'm having the same problem on my Razr Maxx. My notification volume stopped working this morning. My ringer volume still works properly, but nothing for notifications. I tried resetting the volumes for notifications and rebooting the phone, but still no notification volume. Anything else I should check?

Droid 4..notification sound quick working..all settings/selections are on/correct. I don't know when I receive messages until I look at my phone. Don't want to factory reset unless there's no other way.

Have you tried rebooting it? Or just pull the battery, leave it out for about a minute then put it back in. Reboot.
