No ringtones

Since the new Verizon update, my phone will only ring to the stock/default ringtone! It will not play any of my ringtones! Whenever someone calls, I get a red circle with a line thru it where the signal strength indicator is. I am not rooted. I've tried everything I know how but this problem still persists. Any ideas? Oh yeah, my phone constantly locks up & restarts too!
Oh yeah, this is my 1st post guys so help a noob out!

Since you've just updated. Do a factory reset. It's under privacy...in settings

Will that erase all my apps, photos,& other stuff?

Not if stored to sdcard. Settings and such you'll have to redo. Settings in the phone will be reset.
