Night Mode in Google Nav

I'm running liberty 2 and I can't seem to figure out how to get night mode in google nav to work. I've looked online and it seems like google included it in one of the recent updates but I'm starting to wonder if the custom rom has something to do with it. Anyone have ideas?

Mine works just fine. Tap spot on the map you wanna get to. It'll bring up the bubble with the name/address. Hit it to open the address screen or whatever. One of the boxes will have an arrow with a right angle. Hit it. It'll ask how you wanna navigate. Hit driving directions. It'll take you to the navigation.
