New Droid user, very much impressed.

Tempted to root and install Froyo, worried about having a stock backup and worried about bricking my droid, if that is even possible?

Welcome to the forums.

Bricking is possible but very hard to do.

You'll love it more and more, the more time to spend messing with it, customizing it, updating it and tweaking it....trust me

welcome to the forums justin.

Great to have you here.

To date I have yet to see/read about a bricked Motorola Droid on these forums.

There's some great members here that will assist you on the adventure and there is always the Rescue Squad here at DF for immediate help.

Just take your time and read up on it thoroughly before jumping in. It's looks complicated but when your in there doing it it's quite painless and easy.

Good luck and welcome aboard.

I think about the only way to brick the phone is put it in your microwave on high for about 15 minutes. Or unplug it during and RSD install (maybe).

Welcome to the forums. You've joined a great site. Glad to have you here. I haven't to root yet, but may eventually get enough guts. :)
