Multiple Sms messages

Joined specifically to post in this thread. My phone also likes to receive multiple messages from time to time, with my max of 6 reached today. It also sends messages on reboot to mainly one person, but sometimes multiple. It happened with the stock sms app as well as Handcent, which is currently on the phone. Very annoying.

I've had my DX2 for almost 2 weeks now and have received multiple duplicate messages, usually 3 or 4 but got 5 dups in about 14 hours yesterday/last night. I think it's a Droid/Verizon issue. Prior to this phone, I had a Samsung Rogue for 20 months and never once received a duplicate SMS.

My co worker is having similar problems with the Droid X2, Stock apps, with advanced task killer.

She is sending duplicate messages, not receiving.

Could it have something to do with any VZW apps like the back up app?

If I had to take a wild guess, it seems the flag that indicates a message was sent is not getting marked.. ( believe someone stated this also before ) .. Happens randomly, messages can come in several minutes / hours a part.. And can happen after a reboot..

If someone is "Sending Duplicate" that may be different problem.. Since it seems like most here are only receiving the duplicates..

I also agree, just make a quick call or email to VZW so they understand it's a widespread issue.

Hope the Gingerbread is getting tooled the right way.. (also hoping for Swype V3, cant seem to load the Beta)

I've been on Gingerbread since it was rolled out to the X. Non-rooted and i see this issue intermittently.

Anyone tried to remove/reinstall handcent?
