Multiple contacts when messaging

So I got my Droid X Friday. Went through and set up all my contacts, and they only show each number once, like this:

John Doe:
Mobile

But whenever I try to message someone, it shows up like this:

John Doe:
Mobile
Mobile

It's not a huge deal, but it's annoying having to check a contact to select them for a message and then having to check them again to actually select a number. Anyone know what the deal is?

I should also point out that this is while using HandCent SMS. When I use the stock text messaging app it shows up normal

Ok I got it. Didn't realize it took everything I put in and put it into my Google contacts

Im having the same problem, also with bluetooth in my car. How did you fix it? Thanks
