More solid evidence has been found suggesting an impending Nexus 6 and Nexus 8 launch from Google. Developers Florian Kiersch and Carsten Knobloch found mentions of these names hidden within the Chromium project code from Google. Obviously this could simply be Google covering their bases, but the smart money would bet on these being the final names of Google's next smartphone and tablet respectively.
Current intel suggests the Nexus 6 will be based on the LG G3, just as the Nexus 5 used the internal architecture of the LG G2 as its core. As far as the Nexus 8 tablet goes, we have heard inklings that Google has teamed up with HTC for this one. We suspect that Google will announce the Nexus 8 at their Google I/O on June 25-26th, but it's also just as possible it will be revealed on a different timeframe. Google does tend to surprise us from out of the blue much of the time. The Nexus 6 is expected to launch in the Fall of this year.
We will keep you updated as more info arrives.
