mobile Gmail in notifications bar?

I don't like managing my gmail account through the native MotoDroid mail reader. I have placed a shortcut to Mobile Gmail (through the browser) on my home page and that works much better for me--the setup looks much like my desktop version of gmail, calendar, documents, reader, etc.

My question is, can I replace the mail notification in the notifications bar with mobile Gmail? I'd rather not read incoming mail in the default Droid email reader. I guess if I have new mail I can go straight to the home page and my Mobile Gmail shortcut, but it would be faster to open it through the notifications bar.

The notification bar will notify you that you have new mail, I wont link you to it though. The Bookmark icon for the gmail in the browser on your home is your only way.

there's two mail readers....the Email app and the GMail app. You can manage your gmail account in either one.

Which one are you referring to when you say the "default" reader?
