Messaging lag

Whenever i get a message there will be two notifications, I uninstalled chompsms and now just have the default messaging app and there are still two notifications. Also whenever i press the messaging icon it takes about 3-5 seconds to do anything, even longer to actually display the message. Does anyone have any ideas/fixes? Much appreciated.

I have noticed the same problems (with the lag) lately and I use handcent. Keep us updated if you figure it out.

As in there are two of each message in the threads?

Nope there aren't two messages. It just gives the sound twice. And ill keep you updated!
