Manual Gmail refresh

It seems for the last couple months i always have to do manual refresh on my inbox to get my emails to show up in my inbox. Anyone else have this?

Did you change your sync settings or battery mode?

Where do I find sync settings or battery mode? I have a Thunderbolt, if that matters.

Not sure about battery mode since I do not have a t-bolt but there should be an Accounts and Sync, or something similar, within your settings menu. If you go into it you can click on your Google account and make sure that the box next to "sync gmail" is checked.
