Keep recieving months old deleted txts

So this has happened three times in the last month and a half, I receive every sent and received txt that I have gotten and deleted. My phone will start recieving around 2600 msgs and while its doing that I can't txt. I went to verizon and they have no idea. I have searched my phones memory and can't find if my phone stores old txts. Has this happened to anyone else and how can I resolve this issue.
