I found several on Ebay for $4.99 Buy It Now and you get the account instantly.

I selected a number that's not long distance for my family 1000 miles away. That's about all I use it for, but you can set that up to ring your Droid AND your home phone.

Basically, I just use it for the voicemail though...

What is the advantages to using it as voicemail instead of the Verizon voicemail?

I selected a number that's not long distance for my family 1000 miles away. That's about all I use it for, but you can set that up to ring your Droid AND your home phone.

Verizon visual voicemail costs a few bucks/month. Google is free.

Verizon charges for texts. Google is free.

Last I heard, google's voicemail software was better.

Google has more features too, I think.

You sign up on the web, you go on a waiting list. Or someone has an extra one and offers it up. Or you buy one on eBay for a few dollars. That's what I did.
