Is this how Skype works on Android?!

Hello

I've been trying to use Skype as I would on the iPhone but I can't....

On the iPhone Skype would be 'always on' for days! Sometimes I even forget about it and after 4 or 5 days of my first login I was still able to receive calls...

On Android I start up the app... I can make and receive calls... then I put my phone to sleep... and bye bye Skype... is this how it should be!? I noticed that my account keeps online but I can't get any calls... :-(

Any help ?

Do you have a setting where the phone cuts off data when it sleeps? My skype stays on

Skype v2.8.0.920 on Android v4.0.3 on my tablet:
Options:
Log in automatically
Go offline: Never

The above is the real Skype. There is another "Verizon Skype" in the Google Play store. Which are you using?

But my skype problem is still here

My Skype does not do this it stays on until I sign out of it, again though I am using the stock Skype APP on Verizon's network. You don't have a smart action set up to turn data off when you turn the display off do you?

No, I'm not using smart actions for that... My skype account stays on (i'm still online if I check it on my mac, with another skype account) but if I try to skype my phone nothing happens...

On your phone settings do you have the setting "Receive calls from", what is that set to? And a check box for "Enable Video Calling"?

Where is the "Receive calls from" option ? can't find it ... On Skype I have video calling enabled, but that is not the problem (I can do video calls...)

The "Receive calls from" option is available to me when I go into the settings towards the bottom.

I have all the correct options in Skype... ! I can't receive texts or calls, only if I go to the app itself...

I have whatsapp working fine (I can receive all msgs...)
