How to take a picture of home screen?

I am a noob but i do know how to take normal pictures and video. I was wondering if you can take a picture of your home screen or of a conversation in texts. I know that iphone you can. If you dont understand I can upload a picture to show you what I mean. Thank you for looking.

If you mean screenshots, the only way to do that without using the SDK is to root the phone and run something like ShootMe to do screen caps.

well idk about sdk and rooting i dont think i want to root. I know without installing anything you press the lock button and the home button at the same time and it takes the picture on the iphone, at any screen
