How to delete a downloaded .pdf or .xls file

I have a few files that I want to delete and cannot figure out how to do it. I can view them bit cannot figure out how to delete them!

I use adobe reader to open pdf files. Once opened you can select clear file from the menu button.

Use Astro and go to sdcard\download\ and delete from there.

Alternatively, if you're still using the stock browser, hit menu>downloads then tap-hold to delete.
