How do you change the ringtone with messages?

How do you change the ringtones for email?

I know how to with the incoming call (media folder/ringtones)

I tried this method, doesnt work for email. Please help.


P.S. My post reads "messages" but its for EMAIL.

just go into the settings for the email app

e.g. open gmail, hit menu, more, settings, and go to notification settings at the bottom. from there you can select a different sound

I see, I meant moving on the SD Card on own ringtones, how can I use my own ringtones? Seems like you can only use the Droid X email tones :icon_eek:

oh, i got you. you can use customs sounds for email, too.

the directory is sd card>media>audio>notifications

As long as they are in a folder named Notifications they'll work. My setup is Media/Notifications.
