How do I close browsers on my Droid 2 Global?

I have 2 web browsers open - facebook and google. I want to close both since I don't need them open while I"m not using them. The list all browsers page shows a minus (-) sign next to each browser which I would think is what I click to close but it doesn't close. I searched forums and I can't find how to close the browsers. There has to be a way because it doesn't make sense to have every web browser open. Thanks people!!

It is the minus u actually have to touch the minus though not jus the little square its in.
