I wanted a simple charging dock to use my phone as an alarm clock.

A few hours and a few bits of wood later

First thing that crossed my mind....eBay some of those my friend. A fair amount of consumers like handcrafted items with style. Good job!

Pretty cool.

I thought the top ports on the razr were an improvement at first, considering I like to have my phone set in my cupholder with the charger and audio cable out to my stereo, I then considered dock options and using it in the rain. Making a dock like that for the bionic would look really cool and simpler since you wouldn't have to have that radically asymmetrical look, and gravity can insure it stays seated and in place.

The answer is 42.
Oh, wait, you mean to tell me you need to know the question now?
Well, I can't answer that.

Really nice!! do you use some sort of magnet, the way my og droid worked.... does that work with the Razr? or did you just use an alarm clock app?

Thanks everyone. I shared it to maybe give others ideas for their own projects since I liked how it turned out. I've found no magnetic switches on the RAZR, unless someone tells me otherwise. Right now it's just set up with "smart actions" to start Kaloer Clock my favorite alarm clock app whenever I plug it into a wall charger.

You could conceal the web-top adapter in the wood as well and have a "HD Docking Station"
