I just got the droid today and I love it but my marketplace wont work.

Not your problem, it appears the market place is down (or slow for some). Kick back and spend some time reading the forums. You can visit the market when its back up and know a whole lot more about what you really want to download...

Yeah would be good time to make a list of all the apps you want that people here recommend. Then install a bunch at a time later.

But question is the motorola's marketplace different than say the eries marketplace cause i dried on my moms phone when my wouldnt work and hers downloaded instantly??

Hi, walt45 and welcome! Search the forum for a thread called 'Forget the top 5, list ALL of your apps'. Heck, I had to stop reading it last night because other people had cool stuff I'd never heard of and I just kept downloading.

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question about Eris versus Droid Marketplace, but someone will come along who does.
