Google talk recently appeared on my phone, but I didn't install it, and it won't let me install it. Also, when searching the market, there's no Google Talk. Any ideas where it came from?

Thanks for omitting the "dumb ass" part - I don't know why I never noticed it before.

gTalk is usually pre-installed on most Android phones. It's the chat function that you see on Gmail in your web browser (as in anyone can chat with you from their computer to your phone and vice-versa when they are checking their Gmail). I personally prefer it more than sending texts because your messages send instantly as opposed to waiting for a text sms to bounce through towers. If you don't use it, don't open it, and there won't be an issue.
