free wifi tethering?

I just bought a rooted Droid 3 and I the guy said that there was a way to use my phone as a hotspot without the $20 a month
From verizon. How do do that?

no they will not work with the new GB update.....u can get easytether from the market and use it for free its wired though but i use it all the time
