facebook linked profile updates not accurate

When I get a notification for an updated status it is not correct. I pull down the bar and it will say "john and Sara updated status" but when I select it the thing comes up and it shows older updates but not the ones I just got a notifivation for. If the notifications pops up and it is only one person then that update pops directly up but if it is more than 1 then its not correct. hope this isn't too confusing

wait... you get updates? I don't get updates whatsoever. Is there a way I can change that? Kinda offtopic lol
