Email application dies upon opening - how can I reset it?

I set up the email application to access my work email. However, my work put some sort of screen-unlocking password requirement that makes the email application die as soon as I open it. ["Sorry! The application Email (process.com.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." And then I get to choose to "Force close" or "Report."]

The problem is, the email application is using up 25% of my battery. When I go to Settings->Applications->Running Services and then attempt to stop the email application, it keeps coming back! How can I make it go away and stay away? Furthermore, how can I edit the settings (remove my work email account info) in the application when it dies the moment I open it?

Did you try clearing the application cache / data?
menu -> Settings -> Applications -> manage applications -> find the app, clear cache clear data.
