Google just released an incremental update for the Nexus 6. If you are like me then you have already unlocked your bootloader, and installed a custom recovery. You may have even already installed a custom Rom. Preparing a device in this state to receive a stock Over The Air update can be a true pain in the rear. First you will need to unroot the device (which in and of itself is not difficult simply go into SuperSU settings and select "full unroot"), then you will need to either find and flash the stock recovery, or you will need to flash the stock image bringing your device to full factory settings prior to accepting the OTA update.

Alternatively you could simply flash the 5.0.1 system image. Normally flashing the system image on a Nexus device is pretty simple. You do have to have the sdk installed with adb.exe and fastboot.exe files so that your phone can communicate with your PC. You would then normally put your stock image files in your folder containing the adb and fastboot files. Then simply click flash-all.bat. For some reason Google has been packaging the system images for the Nexus 6 wrong and running the Flash-all.bat will not work. You have to extract the file and flash them one by one. This also ends up being a bit of a pain.

Thanks to Developer "Scrosler" of ScottsRoms has packaged a prerooted 5.0.1 Rom. This has been modified in no way. It has only been rooted. Otherwise this rom is completely stock. There are no customizations added and no optimizations added. This makes for a super easy way to update your device! If you already have TWRP installed simply wipe data and flash the Rom! Gapps are even included. Its that easy! Head to the link below to download the rom file.
