DroidX - MB810 Xp drivers will not work..

I ran the motorola device driver installation and the below text is what it says..XP still doesnt find the drivers properly.

I have tried to manually find the ini file and im either not choosing the right one or XP is just being a *****.

I am simply trying to root my phone with 2.2 and I need the drivers to register correctly in order to move forward. Please help and thank you in advance.

I have a rooted Droid so I've not rooted an X. However, I found this in the X hacking section of the Forum. http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-x-hacks/62450-how-root-without-using-adb.html

Thanks for the link. I may resort to this but on principle alone, I want these drivers installed. WTF am i doing wrong, it has to be a stupid mistake

Edit: This was posted in 2009. Would this work with 2.2 froyo? - I dont think so?

z2akuma - Download the newer drivers just put out my Moto - Motorola 4.7.1 Driver with MotoConnect

I had the same issue last week and just yesterday I saw that there were new drivers posted. Updated the drivers and fixed the driver errors.
